Spike Lee 's "Red Hook Summer" - Coming Fall 2012

Whether you're a fan of Spike Lee, film, documentaries, Brooklyn or dope sh*t in general, you've GOT to check this out in Fall 2012.  I'm always excited for a Spike film. That's why I had to post this for you all now! I can't say I've seen all of his work, but eventually I will. The one's I have had the time to watch I am grateful for. They were all --as is the term usually used for LEe's work and anyone who speaks about real sh*t --"thought-provoking. But shouldn't all art be thought-provoking? I simply like Spike because, he does what he does the way he's supposed to do it --the way he wants to + with very few filters. He's a master at his craft and never forgets to play his part in the struggle.

There's no release date posted yet, (supposedly August via ProminenceMagazine. S/O to them for putting me up on this) but I'll be sure to let you all know. This is guaranteed to be dope (that's the key characteristic of someone being good at what they do. Consistent hot product.)
Support the big homie, yo.

RED HOOK SUMMER tells the story of Flik Royale, a sullen young boy from middle-class Atlanta who has come to spend the summer with his deeply religious grandfather, Bishop Enoch Rouse, in the housing projects of Red Hook. Having never met before, things quickly get off on the wrong foot as Bishop Enoch relentlessly attempts to convert Flik into a follower of Jesus Christ. Between his grandfather’s constant preaching and the culture shock of inner-city life, Flik’s summer appears to be a total disaster--until he meets Chazz Morningstar, a pretty girl his age, who shows Flik the brighter side of Brooklyn. Through her love and the love of his grandfather, Flik begins to realize that the world is a lot bigger, and perhaps a lot better, than he’d ever imagined.
